Independent Living
The Rest Home encourages the clients to be as independent as possible with their cares and needs which in turn gives them a better quality of life. In encouraging this aspect, there are always staff on hand for any assistance needed.
The retirement village residents should be independent with their cares and needs, however Home Support systems set up through the Needs Assessment Team in WBH (Te Whatu Ora- Health NZ Te Tai Tokerau Northland) gives them the support needed to achieve this in their own home.
Assisted Living
Riverview Retirement Village offers independant living for both single and married residents over the age of 55 years old. Through the Needs Assessment Team in WBH ( Te Whatu Ora- Health NZ Te Tai Rokerau Northland). Home Support can be accessed as the need arises. Housework, meal preparation or assisted showering are part of this service which in turn lets these residents stay in their homes for longer. Main Meals can also be accessed through the rest home.
Respite Care
The rest home and SDU ( Special Dementia Unit) offer rest home level respite care for families in need. The friendly atmosphere in the rest home acts as a home away from home with staff on duty 24/7. On call, we have Senior Staff along with the Nurse Manager. With the go ahead for the future extensions, both respite and permanent care will also cater for clients in Hospital Level Care.
